Brazil Salary Calculator 2026 Guide

Quick answer: the The calculator below estimates your 2026 monthly take-home pay after INSS and IRPF. Under Law 15,270/2025, IRPF is zero on gross pay up to R$5,000 a month — but INSS is still deducted, so your net is never the full gross. Enter your monthly gross and the This tool does the rest.

Brazil Salary Calculator 2026 — Estimated Take-Home Pay After INSS and IRPF

Use this The Brazil calculator to turn a monthly gross salary into estimated net pay in 2026. The The calculator follows the monthly withholding method (IRRF) for a CLT employee with no dependents and no other deductions: progressive INSS first, then the IRPF table on the taxable base, then the 2026 reduction (redutor) that phases out between R$5,000 and R$7,350 a month. Annual figures on this page are 12 months only — the 13th salary is taxed separately and is excluded. Figures are planning estimates, not tax advice.

🇧🇷 Brazil Salary Calculator (2026)

Enter your monthly gross salary. The This tool calculates INSS, IRPF and net pay, then shows every pay frequency.

Basis: CLT employee, resident, no deductions other than INSS and dependents. The IRPF deduction is the larger of (INSS + R$189.59 per dependent) or the R$607.20 simplified discount — never both added together. Annual = monthly × 12, excluding the 13th salary. Hourly uses a 44-hour week (2,288 hours a year) as a page convention.

How the Brazil Salary Calculator Works in 2026

The The Brazil calculator works in the order the law works, and that order matters. First the The calculator calculates INSS on your monthly gross, slice by slice, capped at R$988.09. Then the This tool works out your IRPF deduction — the larger of (INSS + R$189.59 per dependent) or the R$607.20 simplified discount — and subtracts it from gross to get your taxable base. Then the The Brazil calculator applies the monthly IRPF table to that base, and finally applies the 2026 reduction. The most common mistake in a The calculator is subtracting INSS and the R$607.20 discount together — that double-counts, and this This tool does not do it.

Brazilian pay is monthly by statute, which is why the The Brazil calculator starts from a monthly salary, not an annual one. The annual figure is monthly × 12 for budgeting, and the The calculator states that plainly, because the 13th salary is taxed separately under the same tables and is not folded into monthly × 12. The new minimum tax (IRPFM) from 2026 applies only where total annual income exceeds R$600,000, so it is not modelled in the examples here, which top out at R$240,000 a year — but a very high salary on this This tool must not be treated as a complete annual-return figure.

Brazil Salary Calculator: 2026 Employee INSS Table

Charged slice by slice, only on the slice inside each band, capped at R$8,475.55 a month. Employer FGTS at 8% of gross is not an employee deduction and is never subtracted by the The Brazil calculator.

Up to 1,621.007.5%

2,902.85 – 4,354.2712%

Maximum employee INSS: R$121.58 + R$115.37 + R$174.17 + R$576.98 = R$988.09 a month. Earnings above the R$8,475.55 ceiling pay no further employee INSS.

Brazil Salary Calculator: The 2026 Reduction (Redutor)

Law 15,270/2025, effective 1 January 2026, added a reduction on top of the table tax, applied on gross monthly income. Gross up to R$5,000 a month: IRPF is zero, because the reduction cancels the whole table tax. Gross R$5,000.01–7,350 a month: reduction = R$978.62 − 0.133145 × gross, and IRPF = table tax − reduction, floored at zero. Gross above R$7,350 a month: no reduction, table tax in full. At R$5,000 the formula gives R$978.62 − R$665.73 = R$312.89, which is exactly the table tax on the R$4,392.80 base — that cross-check is how you know the The calculator reduction is wired correctly. INSS is still paid in full even when IRPF is zero.

Brazil Salary Calculator Worked Examples — No Dependents

R$5,000 a month — IRPF zero

INSS: 1,621.00 × 7.5% = 121.58; 1,281.84 × 9% = 115.37; 1,451.43 × 12% = 174.17; 645.73 × 14% = 90.40; total R$501.51. Deduction = larger of 501.51 or 607.20 = 607.20; base = 5,000 − 607.20 = 4,392.80. Table tax = 4,392.80 × 22.5% − 675.49 = R$312.89, fully cancelled by the reduction. IRPF R$0.00; net R$4,498.49 a month; R$53,981.88 for 12 months, excluding the 13th salary.

R$6,000 a month — phase-out in action

INSS R$641.51; deduction = 641.51; base = 5,358.49. Table tax = 5,358.49 × 27.5% − 908.73 = R$564.85. Reduction = 978.62 − 0.133145 × 6,000 = R$179.75. IRPF R$385.10; net R$4,973.39 a month.

R$10,000 a month — above the phase-out

INSS capped at R$988.09; deduction = 988.09; base = 9,011.91. Table tax = 9,011.91 × 27.5% − 908.73 = R$1,569.55; no reduction. Net R$7,442.36 a month; R$89,308.32 for 12 months, excluding the 13th salary.

R$20,000 a month — top bracket, INSS capped

INSS capped at R$988.09; base = 19,011.91. Table tax = 19,011.91 × 27.5% − 908.73 = R$4,319.55; no reduction. Net R$14,692.36 a month; R$176,308.32 for 12 months, excluding the 13th salary.

What the Brazil Salary Calculator Does Not Include

The This tool on this page is a monthly salary calculator, not an annual-return calculator. The The Brazil calculator does not include health or education deductions, private pension contributions, alimony, the 13th salary, or the high-income minimum tax above R$600,000 a year. The The calculator also does not include FGTS, because FGTS is an employer cost, not an employee deduction. If any of those apply to you, the This tool result is a starting estimate, not your final annual tax position — use the The Brazil calculator for monthly budgeting, and check the annual return separately.

Using the Brazil Salary Calculator for a Job Offer

When you run the Brazil Salary Calculator, compare net monthly pay, not gross pay. A Brazil Salary Calculator result of R$10,000 gross in São Paulo is not the same life as the same Brazil Salary Calculator result in a smaller city, because rent differs — but the Brazil Salary Calculator tax itself does not change by city, since INSS and IRPF are federal. Run the Brazil Salary Calculator with your real monthly gross, check whether dependents change your deduction route, and use the Brazil Salary Calculator monthly net for your budget, remembering the 13th salary sits outside the ×12 annual figure.

Frequently Asked Questions — Brazil Salary Calculator

How does the Brazil Salary Calculator work in 2026?
The Brazil Salary Calculator calculates INSS progressively, takes the larger IRPF deduction (INSS + dependents, or the R$607.20 simplified discount), applies the monthly IRPF table, then applies the 2026 reduction that exempts gross pay up to R$5,000 a month.
Is R$5,000 a month really tax-free in Brazil in 2026?
IRPF is zero up to R$5,000 gross a month, but INSS is still deducted. At R$5,000 gross, the Brazil Salary Calculator gives net R$4,498.49 a month, not R$5,000.
Why does the Brazil Salary Calculator not add INSS and the simplified discount together?
Because the law gives you the larger of the two routes, not both. Adding them would double-count INSS and understate your tax.
Does the Brazil Salary Calculator include the 13th salary?
No. Annual figures are monthly × 12 only. The 13th salary is one extra month's pay taxed separately, so a true annual total is 12 months plus a separately taxed 13th.
What is a good salary in Brazil?
It depends on the city. São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro pay more and cost more. Compare net pay in the Brazil Salary Calculator before judging a gross offer.
