Quick answer: the Mexico Salary Calculator below estimates your 2026 take-home pay after ISR, Mexico's federal income tax. Enter your annual gross salary and the Mexico Salary Calculator applies the official 2026 annual ISR table — no state income tax, because Mexican states do not tax employee income.
Mexico Salary Calculator 2026 — Estimated Take-Home Pay After ISR
Use this Mexico Salary Calculator to turn a gross annual salary into estimated net pay after ISR. The Mexico Salary Calculator uses the calendar-2026 ISR table from Article 152 of the Income Tax Law (LISR), published in Anexo 8 of the 2026 Resolución Miscelánea Fiscal. It is an income-tax calculator first: IMSS social security is entered from your payslip, because IMSS is charged on your contribution base, not on plain gross salary. Figures on this page are planning estimates, not tax advice.
🇲🇽 Mexico Salary Calculator (2026)
Enter your gross salary. The Mexico Salary Calculator calculates ISR on the annual basis, then shows every pay frequency.
ISR is calculated on gross salary as taxable income, before personal deductions. If you enter IMSS, it is deducted after ISR to give an in-hand estimate. The employment subsidy (subsidio para el empleo) is not applied here — it only affects monthly pay up to MXN 11,492.66, so low salaries may in practice pay slightly less ISR than shown.

How the Mexico Salary Calculator Works in 2026
The Mexico Salary Calculator applies ISR progressively, bracket by bracket. Only the part of your salary inside each bracket is taxed at that bracket's rate — your top rate never applies to your whole salary. That is the single most common misunderstanding about the Mexico Salary Calculator, and it is why a salary of MXN 600,000 does not pay 23.52% on all MXN 600,000. The Mexico Salary Calculator finds your bracket, takes its fixed fee (cuota fija), then adds the rate on the amount above the bracket's lower limit. The formula is: ISR = cuota fija + (taxable income − lower limit) × rate on excess.
Mexico's tax year is the calendar year, so this Mexico Salary Calculator is labelled 2026, not 2026–27. The 2026 table is new: it was updated for inflation by about 13.21% from the table used in 2023–2025, and it applies from 1 January 2026. Any Mexico Salary Calculator still using the old first bracket of MXN 8,952.49 is out of date for 2026 — the new first bracket runs to MXN 10,135.11, and the 30% rate now starts at MXN 668,840.15, not MXN 590,796.00.
Employers withhold ISR monthly during the year and the annual table is the year-end reconciliation basis, with the annual return due by 30 April of the following year. Monthly payslip withholding can differ slightly from annual ÷ 12, because monthly withholding uses its own monthly tariff. The Mexico Salary Calculator therefore shows monthly figures as annual ÷ 12 for budgeting, and that is the honest way to present them.
Mexico Salary Calculator: 2026 Annual ISR Table (LISR Article 152)
This is the table the Mexico Salary Calculator uses. Taxable income here means gross salary, before personal deductions.
| Lower Limit (MXN) | Upper Limit (MXN) | Fixed Fee (MXN) | Rate on Excess |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0.01 | 10,135.11 | 0.00 | 1.92% |
| 10,135.12 | 86,022.11 | 194.59 | 6.40% |
| 86,022.12 | 151,176.19 | 5,051.37 | 10.88% |
| 151,176.20 | 175,735.66 | 12,140.13 | 16.00% |
| 175,735.67 | 210,403.69 | 16,069.64 | 17.92% |
| 210,403.70 | 424,353.97 | 22,282.14 | 21.36% |
| 424,353.98 | 668,840.14 | 67,981.92 | 23.52% |
| 668,840.15 | 1,276,925.98 | 125,485.07 | 30.00% |
| 1,276,925.99 | 1,702,567.97 | 307,910.81 | 32.00% |
| 1,702,567.98 | 5,107,703.92 | 444,116.23 | 34.00% |
| 5,107,703.93 | and over | 1,601,862.46 | 35.00% |
Check: each fixed fee is, within rounding, the tax at the previous bracket's upper limit — for example, MXN 10,135.11 × 1.92% = MXN 194.59. That internal check is how you know the table in this Mexico Salary Calculator is consistent.
Mexico Salary Calculator: What ISR Is Not
First, ISR is federal only. No Mexican state levies income tax on employees, so a Mexico Salary Calculator needs no state selector for ISR. What varies by state is the employer-only payroll tax (ISN, Impuesto Sobre Nóminas, roughly 1%–4.25% depending on the state) — it is paid by the employer and is never deducted from your net pay, so it does not appear in this Mexico Salary Calculator.
Second, there is no general standard deduction like other countries have, and no special married or family ISR rate — the rates are the same in all cases. Personal deductions such as medical expenses, mortgage interest, school fees and retirement contributions exist for the annual return, but they are capped and individual, so the Mexico Salary Calculator keeps them out of the core calculation rather than guessing them. Third, the employment subsidy (subsidio para el empleo) is not a deduction from taxable income: it is a fixed monthly amount netted against ISR due, only when monthly taxable income does not exceed MXN 11,492.66 in 2026, worth MXN 492.14 a month from February 2026 (13.8% of the monthly UMA of MXN 3,566.22). It is excluded from this Mexico Salary Calculator, which is why very low salaries may in practice pay slightly less than shown.
IMSS in the Mexico Salary Calculator: Why It Is User-Entered
IMSS employee contributions can be summarised at about 2.775% of the contribution base — sickness and maternity 0.625% plus 0.40% on the amount above 3 UMAs, disability and life 0.625%, and old-age and unemployment 1.125% — but the base is the Salario Base de Cotización (SBC), your integrated daily salary including aguinaldo, vacation premium and other benefits, capped at 25 UMAs a day (MXN 2,932.75 a day in 2026). Applying 2.775% to plain gross salary would be wrong for anyone with significant benefits, so the Mexico Salary Calculator asks for your IMSS amount from your payslip instead of hard-coding it. Enter it and the Mexico Salary Calculator deducts it after ISR for an in-hand estimate; leave it blank and you get the ISR-only result. Aguinaldo (at least 15 days' salary) and profit-sharing (PTU) have their own exemption and tax rules and are excluded from the examples below, which are base salary only.
Mexico Salary Calculator Worked Examples — ISR Only
All three examples use the Mexico Salary Calculator on an ISR-only basis: gross salary = taxable income, no subsidy (all monthly incomes are above MXN 11,492.66), no IMSS. The Mexico Salary Calculator arithmetic is shown in full so you can check it.

Using the Mexico Salary Calculator for a Job Offer
When a Mexico Salary Calculator result lands in front of you, compare net pay, not gross pay. A Mexico Salary Calculator offer of MXN 600,000 in Mexico City and the same Mexico Salary Calculator figure in Guadalajara are not the same life, because rent differs — but the Mexico Salary Calculator tax itself does not change by city, since ISR is federal. Run the Mexico Salary Calculator with your real gross, add your real IMSS from a sample payslip, and use the Mexico Salary Calculator monthly figure for your budget. That is what the Mexico Salary Calculator is for: a clean, checkable estimate before you sign.
