Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator 2026 Guide

Quick answer: the Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator below estimates your 2026 monthly take-home pay in Saudi Arabia. There is no personal income tax on salary in Saudi Arabia — the only deduction in the calculator is GOSI for Saudi nationals, and expatriates pay no employee GOSI at all. Enter your basic salary and housing allowance, pick your track, and the calculator does the rest.

Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator 2026 — Estimated Take-Home Pay After GOSI

Use this calculator to turn a monthly salary in Saudi Arabia into estimated net pay in 2026. The calculator is different from most calculators on this site, because Saudi Arabia levies no personal income tax on employment salary — for Saudi nationals or for expatriates. What the calculator does deduct is GOSI, Saudi Arabia's social insurance, and only for Saudi nationals: 9.75% for Saudis on the legacy system, 10.75% for Saudis on the new system from 1 July 2026, and 0% for expatriates. GOSI is charged on basic salary plus housing allowance only, capped at SAR 45,000 a month. Figures are planning estimates, not tax advice.

Basis: monthly pay in SAR. GOSI base = basic + housing, capped at SAR 45,000/month. Transport, food and other allowances are excluded from the GOSI base and are not entered here. Annual = monthly × 12, no statutory 13th salary. Hourly uses a 48-hour week (2,496 hours a year) as a page convention.

How the Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator Works in 2026

The calculator works in a short order, because there is so little to deduct. First the calculator adds your basic salary and housing allowance, and caps that total at SAR 45,000 a month — that capped total is the GOSI contributory wage. Then the calculator applies your track's GOSI rate to that capped wage: 9.75% legacy, 10.75% new system, 0% expatriate. Then the calculator subtracts GOSI from your full basic-plus-housing total (not just from the capped wage) to get net pay. Income tax is SAR 0 at every step, for every track, so the calculator does not show an income-tax line at all — the only tax-like line is GOSI, and only for Saudi nationals.

That is why the calculator asks for basic salary and housing separately. If you entered a single total gross that included transport, food or other allowances, the calculator would charge GOSI on money GOSI does not cover, and your net would be understated. Enter only basic plus housing here, and check your payslip for how your employer splits the package. If your employer provides housing in kind rather than a cash allowance, the calculator cannot value it from this page — use the cash-equivalent figure from your contract, and treat the result as an estimate.

Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator: No Income Tax on Salary

Saudi Arabia levies no personal income tax on employment salary in 2026. That applies to Saudi nationals and to expatriate residents alike: there is no PAYE withholding on wages and no annual personal tax return for employees. The calculator therefore gives an expatriate a net equal to gross, before any tax the expatriate's home country may charge — a US citizen, for example, may still have a US filing obligation, and the calculator does not calculate home-country tax.

Three things that are sometimes mistaken for salary tax are not deducted by the calculator. Zakat is a religious obligation on qualifying net assets, not a deduction from salary when it is received, and an expatriate has no mandatory individual Zakat obligation to the Saudi government. VAT at 15% is a consumption tax, paid when you buy things, not a payroll deduction. Corporate income tax and withholding tax fall on the employer or the paying entity, not on your payslip. If a figure on another site deducts any of those from a Saudi salary, it is not a Saudi payslip deduction.

Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator: 2026 GOSI Rates

GOSI is the General Organization for Social Insurance. The table below is the whole employee side of the calculator. Employer rates are shown for context only — the calculator never subtracts employer contributions from your pay.

TrackAnnuities (employee)SANED (employee)Employee TotalEmployer Total (context)

Which Saudi track are you on? That is the trap in this page, and the Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator makes you pick it explicitly. The legacy track applies to a Saudi who had any contribution period under the Social Insurance Law or Civil Retirement Law before 3 July 2024 — it stays at 9.75% and does not rise when you change jobs. The new system applies only to a Saudi entering the labour market for the first time with no contribution period before 3 July 2024, under Royal Decree M/273.

Its annuities rate phases up: 9% in July 2024–June 2025, 9.5% in July 2025–June 2026, 10% from 1 July 2026, 10.5% from July 2027, 11% from July 2028. So the new-system employee total in this Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator is 10.75% for July 2026–June 2027, and it will rise again in July 2027. If you are unsure which track you are on, check your GOSI record — do not guess, because the two rates differ by a full percentage point.

Contributory wage = basic salary + housing allowance, capped at SAR 45,000 a month. Transport, food, phone and other allowances, commissions and ordinary bonuses are excluded by the majority of sources checked for the Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator. A SAR 1,500 a month minimum contributory wage is reported by two sources only and is not applied by the Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator — if your basic plus housing is below SAR 1,500, check your payslip, because a floor may be applied in practice.

Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator Worked Examples — Monthly

Every example in the Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator uses the same basis: the quoted gross is basic salary plus housing allowance only, income tax is SAR 0, annual is monthly × 12, and hourly is monthly net ÷ 208 (2,496 hours a year at 48 hours a week).

SAR 10,000 a month — all three tracks

Saudi legacy: GOSI 10,000 × 9.75% = SAR 975.00 (annuities 900.00 + SANED 75.00); net SAR 9,025.00 a month, SAR 108,300 a year, SAR 43.39 an hour. Saudi new system: GOSI 10,000 × 10.75% = SAR 1,075.00 (annuities 1,000.00 + SANED 75.00); net SAR 8,925.00 a month, SAR 107,100 a year, SAR 42.91 an hour. Expatriate: GOSI SAR 0; net SAR 10,000.00 a month, SAR 120,000 a year, SAR 48.08 an hour. Employer GOSI for context: legacy SAR 1,175.00, new SAR 1,275.00, expatriate SAR 200.00 (2% hazards).

SAR 20,000 a month — all three tracks

Saudi legacy: GOSI SAR 1,950.00; net SAR 18,050.00 a month, SAR 216,600 a year, SAR 86.78 an hour. Saudi new system: GOSI SAR 2,150.00; net SAR 17,850.00 a month, SAR 214,200 a year, SAR 85.82 an hour. Expatriate: GOSI SAR 0; net SAR 20,000.00 a month, SAR 240,000 a year, SAR 96.15 an hour.

SAR 50,000 a month basic + housing — the cap in action

Here the Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator caps the GOSI wage at SAR 45,000, but net is still taken from the full SAR 50,000. Saudi legacy: GOSI 45,000 × 9.75% = SAR 4,387.50; net SAR 45,612.50 a month, SAR 547,350 a year. Saudi new system: GOSI 45,000 × 10.75% = SAR 4,837.50; net SAR 45,162.50 a month, SAR 541,950 a year. Expatriate: GOSI SAR 0; net SAR 50,000.00 a month, SAR 600,000 a year. Employer hazards for context are charged on the capped wage: SAR 900.00 a month.

What the Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator Does Not Include

The Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator on this page is a monthly salary calculator, not a full cost-of-living or annual-return calculator. The Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator does not deduct the expatriate work-permit levy (reported at SAR 700–800 a month per expatriate worker) because Labour Law Article 40 prohibits deducting it from salary — it is an employer cost. The Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator does not deduct the dependent fee (SAR 400 a month per dependent) because it is a residency fee borne by the expatriate in practice, not a payroll deduction, unless your contract says otherwise.

The Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator does not include end-of-service benefit, because that is an employer accrual (half a month's basic wage per year for the first five years, then a full month per year), not a deduction. GCC nationals are not modelled as a third track: under GCC extension arrangements their contributions generally go to their home-country scheme, so a GCC national should check their home scheme rather than using either Saudi track here.

Using the Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator for a Job Offer

When you run the Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator, compare net monthly pay, not gross pay — and compare like with like on the GOSI base. A Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator result of SAR 20,000 gross in Riyadh is not the same life as the same Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator result in a smaller city, because housing costs differ — but the Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator GOSI itself does not change by city, since GOSI is national.

Run the Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator with your real basic plus housing, pick the right track, and use the Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator monthly net for your budget, remembering the annual figure is monthly × 12 with no statutory 13th salary folded in. Salaries in Saudi Arabia are paid monthly in SAR through the Wage Protection System, so the Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator starts from a monthly figure for the same reason.

Frequently Asked Questions — Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator

How does the Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator work in 2026?
The Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator caps basic plus housing at SAR 45,000 a month, applies your GOSI track rate (9.75% legacy, 10.75% new system, 0% expatriate), and subtracts GOSI from your full basic-plus-housing total. Income tax is SAR 0, so there is no income-tax line.
Is salary really tax-free in Saudi Arabia in 2026?
For income tax, yes — at every salary level, for Saudis and expatriates. Saudi nationals still pay GOSI, so their net is below gross. At SAR 10,000 a month the Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator gives net SAR 9,025.00 (legacy) or SAR 8,925.00 (new system), and SAR 10,000.00 for an expatriate.
Which GOSI track am I on?
Legacy if you had any contribution period before 3 July 2024, at a fixed 9.75%. New system only if you entered the labour market for the first time with no contribution period before 3 July 2024, at 10.75% from 1 July 2026, rising to 11.25% in July 2027. Check your GOSI record rather than guessing.
Does the Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator include a 13th salary?
No. There is no statutory 13th salary in Saudi Arabia. Annual figures are monthly × 12 only, and contractual Ramadan or Eid bonuses are not folded in.
What is a good salary in Saudi Arabia?
It depends on the city and on housing. Riyadh and Jeddah cost more than smaller cities, so compare net pay in the Saudi Arabia Salary Calculator before judging a gross offer — and remember an expatriate's net equals gross before any home-country tax.
