Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate are these salary calculators?
Our calculators use official 2026 tax rates from government sources (HMRC, Belastingdienst, Bundesfinanzministerium, impots.gouv.fr, Agencia Tributaria). Results are estimates for a standard employee — your actual take-home may vary based on personal circumstances, additional deductions, pension contributions, and local tax variations. For exact figures, consult a tax adviser in the relevant country.
Which countries do you cover?
We currently cover Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, and Spain — the five most-searched European salary markets. Each country has multiple salary level calculators plus a general salary calculator page. We are regularly adding new salary levels and countries.
What is included in the deductions?
Each country's calculator includes all standard employee deductions. For Germany: income tax (Lohnsteuer), health insurance, pension, unemployment, and long-term care contributions. For the UK: Income Tax and National Insurance. For the Netherlands: Box 1 combined tax and national insurance with heffingskorting and arbeidskorting credits. For France: cotisations sociales and prélèvement à la source income tax. For Spain: IRPF and Seguridad Social contributions.
